Barbara Slasor

With over 18 years’ experience of working with grass roots community groups and voluntary sector organisations, I have enabled them to raise their voice at local, regional and national level on issues that matter to them, affecting positive change.

As a Community Development Lead supporting a proactive resident-led Big Local area in Bishop Auckland , one of 150 areas spending £1million over ten years, has given me great insight into how best to engage, involve and empower local residents of all ages and abilities.

I am passionate about communities accessing opportunities to build their own capacity and take control of their own lives.

In my personal time, I enjoy all things MotoGP; camping and touring the UK and abroad on the motorbike – taking in all of the sights, sounds, smells and freedom that this mode of transport allows.
